This studio project for Capital Industrial examines the potential repurposing of under-performing industrial units for affordable but commercially viable artist and maker studio space. This project has the challenge of creating a 'building within a building' - two storeys of studio space within an existing lightweight shed on a constrained West London site.

Issues of fire escape have been critical in establishing a solution - but the challenge also presents the opportunity to create a real sense of community through a semi-open yard onto which the studios face.
