We were commissioned by Hastings Borough Council in 2008 to masterplan the prominent Stade site in Hastings, between the Old Town and the working fishing beach. The brief was to create a major new public realm for events, festivals and community use, community facilities and cafe alongside the Hastings Contemporary.

The process involved extensive community and stakeholder involvement, and the £8.5m scheme was completed in 2012. It contributed to the Old Town receiving the Academy of Urbanism's Great Neighbourhood Award in 2015.
